2012 – A Breakout Year for Digium Switchvox

Excuse me for bragging, but Digium, our leading business phone systems provider had an absolutely stellar 2011. For the past three years, I have been banging the drum about the value of business communications systems that use the telecom industry standard of SIP (Session Initiated Protocol). SIP-based systems are less expensive, don’t require expensive licences and provide greater flexibility, as well as a very rosy future.

Digium Switchvox Highlights

  • Switchvox experienced 40 percent growth in 2011, the result of continued global adoption of its Unified Communications (UC) solutions
  • Digium’s partner program received CRN’s prestigious Five Star Partner Program Award
  • Switchvox 5.0 release provided Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC), enabling users to seamlessly route, record or transfer calls from anywhere while appearing to be at their office location (no additional cost or licensing with an active subscription)
  • Switchvox Mobile application was introduced for Android devices, adding to the existing mobile support for iPhone and Blackberry devices
  • Digium was included by Gartner, Inc. in the Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony as well as Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications report

Wow, what a list of accomplishments. Congratulations, Digium!

In upcoming posts, I’ll explain the evolution of business phone systems moving from the old proprietary designs to the new standards-based PBX.
