At TeleDynamic, we get a lot of questions about different Virtual PBX companies. Many people want to know what real users and reviewers are actually saying about these products – not just the standard corporate marketing gobbledygook.
Today we start our Virtual PBX Reviews series with Vocalocity.

Reviews from WhichVoIP.com
– “We are very satisfied with Vocalocity. From initial contact with sales to post installation support and customer service, these guys are fantastic. Rapid response to any questions I’ve had. Excellent feature list for the price. Many features are in beta right now, and beta features can be added to your account if you are willing to test on a production system.”
– “Vocalocity acquired Aptela. Switchover was a NIGHTMARE. Now a month after having suffered that, they eliminated all phone service to the country where two thirds of our employees are based. Avoid them like the plague.”
-“They were fast to answer… very patient with my ‘newby’ questions and concerns even more patient when I re-asked some questions 🙂 I could always get somebody on the phone, if needed. I would recommend them over the other 2 which were offered.”
Reviews from Top Ten Reviews
– “Pros: Vocalocity doesn’t require you to sign a contract. It provides Microsoft Outlook and LinkedIn integration to make it easier for you to contact your clients and associates.
Cons: This company doesn’t provide a service level agreement that guarantees how reliable its service will be. It also only has a basic queuing feature that unevenly distributes the incoming-call load disproportionately to those who are at the beginning of the list.”
The Verdict: 7.73/10
This business VoIP service doesn’t share information about it’s network reliability. However, it doesn’t require you to have a contract, so if it doesn’t meet your needs, switching providers shouldn’t be too much of a problem.”

– “I am very satisfied with the Vocalocity system, quality of calls, reliability of service and the features, especially for a small business owner.” – Richard Karlen, Millenium Financial Services
-“Pros: A bunch of features.
Cons: Unfortunately the features they provide don’t work well. The call queue has gone down without notice and logged all users out and left our customers parked on eternal hold until they hung up. This has happened at least 15 times over the past 3 months. To top it off, we were charged hundreds of dollars for those calls parked in the queue due to their failure. Vocalocity readily admits the issue, but also admits that they won’t notify it’s users when the queue goes down as all users don’t use this feature, and they don’t want to alarm them.”
– “Pros: Ease of installation, flexibility of service, feature list, great account/extension administration on the web.
Cons: iPhone App needs more features.”
Reviews from Voip-Info.Org
– “The Good: Price, feature set and most of all – customer service!
The Bad: A few features need further development, but they keep churning out updates all the time.”
– “The Good: Interoperability with other communications devices.”
– “The Bad: Wish the limited extensions had a lower base cost.”
– “So we looked at a few options and ended up with Vocalocity. For a year now we have been using the service and we are pleased. The phones were extremely easy to set up and we make and receive calls as if we were using a traditional phone system. Vocalocity gave us the image that we needed at a cheap price without requiring us to change our business at all, it has been great.”
Reviews From NextAdvisor
– “Vocalocity advertises a low per-extension price of $19.99 per month, based on a 15-extension plan. There’s no activation fee, so you’ll be up and running with minimal upfront costs. Vocalocity comes bundled with many features including free softphone service, so employees can make and receive calls right from their computers, as well as unlimited calling in the United States, three-way conference calling, call forwarding, and an easy-to-schedule virtual receptionist for recorded greetings and call routing. Additionally, you can save your customers money by choosing an unlimited toll-free number for $39.99. Bridge conference calling and Internet faxing are additional options; each is available for an additional $14.99 per month.”
